Happy I Was Wrong! Trump Claims Greatest Night in History. Nicole Boots Trump From Mar-a-Lago
It is great to be wrong sometimes.
The leader set the stakes.
I AM THRILLED TO REPORT THAT I WAS WRONG, SO FAR, WE THINK.
On Sunday, in a post called “Prudently Prepare for the Worst,” I noted that Ben Shapiro had puffed his chest and said:
[I]f people go to bed on Tuesday night thinking the Republicans have won, and by Wednesday morning Democrats have picked up a bunch of seats, and the red wave has founded on the rocks, there’s gonna be a lot of discontent in this country.
Well, a lot of Democrats won Tuesday night, and Democrats feel good about the Senate in Nevada, Arizona and a run-off in Georgia, none of which are decided today, Wednesday. Pennsylvania came through with speed.
In response to what everyone read as a clear threat, I wrote, in part:
One might take comfort in the fact that there won’t be 50,000 of Trump’s most hardcore supporters organizing an attack on the Capitol if the election doesn’t go their way. But the decentralization could make things even worse. Threats to judges and county clerks, abject refusal to recognize the election as legitimate, ignoring judicial orders, and a “fight me for it” attitude spread from sea to shining sea.
The red wave never appeared. The GOP will likely very narrowly win the House. And Arizona, home of election deniers, is still to be finished. But Kari Lake is suddenly without any election “deniers” to which to point and join. She would stick out, isolated, less dangerous. Most importantly, of the Republican seats that have been lost, there haven’t been screams of “RIGGED!” from throughout the Right.
It is very possible that Joe Biden’s message that democracy was on the line got through, not just in helping Democrats win elections but perhaps even persuading Republicans that it’s time to put election “fights” behind us, that 2020 was scary enough.
I am publicly acknowledging that I was wrong in my concern (I did note that no one should concede the House, and massive early voting was a fantastic sign). Now let’s just hope that Arizona holds on with Sen. Hall of Fame Husband Mark Kelly looking very good and Hobbs running neck and neck with Lake. It is doubtful that there will be violence in Nevada even though Democrats feel very good about the remaining 20% of the vote to be counted, making up ground.
Giddy.
Still, a lot of roads to travel, but it’s prettier than predicted.
TRUMP BELIEVES HE PICKED UP ONE OF THE BIGGEST WINS IN HISTORY: NO, SERIOUSLY
From Trump’s Truth Social account:
174 wins and 9 losses, A GREAT EVENING, and the Fake News Media, together with their partner in crime, the Democrats, are doing everything possible to play it down. Amazing job by some really fantastic candidates!
Right.
Those stats might be far more impressive if Trump hadn’t picked Oz in Pennsylvania, Walker in Georgia - where any normal Republican would likely run identically to Brian Kemp, or if he hadn’t picked Masters in Arizona. There are three very probable losses that would… cost the GOP the Senate.
Trump chalked up a lot of wins endorsing eight-term Republicans in Idaho, but he may be the most responsible for any GOP loss of the Senate, while Biden is responsible for any win.
Oh, he also blamed Melania for picking Oz:
Including his wife? “Not her best decision?” We were unaware that alpha male Donald Trump had Melania make all his decisions. Perhaps we were “unaware” because Trump doesn’t let Melania make decisions. He only blames her (and others) when he is wrong.
NICOLE HAS KICKED TRUMP’S ASS OUT OF MAR-A-LAGO
I have loved more Nicoles in my life than I have had hot meals. Just how it all played out. How the last one goes will not be covered in the “everything” we have much ado about.
But I sure love this girl, too. She has plowed through the topics LATE. She’s beyond hurricane season. Talk about a woman who knows how to make an entrance.
And she is strong enough to knock on the Mar-a-Lago door and say, “GET OUT!” Just like a lot of other Nicoles I’ve known. This one, like another, is also a media star. From the National Post:
Tropical Storm Nicole forced people from their homes in the Bahamas and threatened to grow into a rare November hurricane in Florida on Wednesday, shutting down airports and prompting an evacuation order that included former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club.
That’s our girl.
This and that:
—Please don’t order Amazon streaming for NFL Football. You should not have to pay to watch games AND commercials. If I can work for free…
—Our #2 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs (Men’s basketball) won their first game last night against a patsy, which is good because the next game is against Michigan State on a boat. (A big boat, an Air Craft Carrier).
—Democrats may not win either the House or the Senate (though the Senate looks good), but they still won the mid-terms, given all the variables and historical precedent.
—Doctors aren’t what they used to be. They seem to spend more time justifying what they’re not doing than doing what they’re doing. Of course, they know more than me.
Thank you for dropping by again! We are GROWING AGAIN, but want to go faster, please share this post or any other, and while I won’t charge until I have a reliable system in place with a backup writer, any little bit on Venmo, @Jason-Miciak always helps. The $20 donation two days ago paid for the pizza party with my daughter watching the results! Thanks, Jason
