Trump's Promises to Immediately Instill Fascism Are Brutally Honest

***: January 20th, 2025, After Trump Wins an Election Determined by the House of Representatives, gives his inaugural address:

“… given that the country has ‘gone to hell,’ and cannot control either the border or crime in American cities, I will, shortly after my speech, sign a declaration that ‘temporarily’ imposes martial law until order is reinstated. To that end, I will shortly federalize all national guard units and bring active military personnel to police the streets… I am also firing 50,000 federal employees and civil servants that have abused their positions and filling these positions loyal to us and put America First… I will reorganize our national security state and combine the State Department, the Department of Defense, the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Homeland Security will all be part of a new “America First Department to be run by my Vice President…”

Mary Trump recently said that she believes it’s almost a foregone conclusion that Trump will be reelected in 2024. She is “almost certain.”

Well, I don’t have Mary Trump’s inside knowledge of Trump’s psychological makeup, and even though she’s had a lot of success in her prior predictions, we’ll take that “almost certain,” with a grain of salt. After all, just two days ago, we learned that Trump is under criminal investigation for laundering Russian money tied to Putin in order to prop up Truth Social when Trump was short on cash. One would think that would give at least a few MAGAs pause. One would think.

But it is time to acknowledge that Trump is currently outpacing DeSantis. Thus, there is a significant chance, a far better chance than we’d expect and certainly far better than what we want, that Trump could actually win. Given that reality, it’s important to listen to what Trump is saying because Trump is never more honest than when promising what he will do as president. He is planning nothing short of a fascist takeover, and he laid it out for the world to hear at CPAC in what people immediately called his “darkest speech.” He referenced the coming “Final Battle,” and he followed it up with videos that highlight the danger he represents to democracy.

**

Trump was the only real candidate to attend CPAC. I’m not talking about CPAC “San Antonio,” the traveling road show. I am talking about CPAC “Proper,” the one near Washington, an event that used to be an entry-level requirement for anyone aspiring to be president from the Republican side. He spoke for two hours. Trump spends so much time talking that one can get bored and believe one has heard it all before because - for the most part - many have. But it is a shame that people didn’t listen to every word of his CPAC speech. Trump fed the MAGA movement the sustenance they desperately wanted, a promise that real power is coming and it doesn’t need to be decided in an election.

THE FINAL BATTLE

From Trump’s speech: “This is the final battle. They know it, I know, you know it – everybody knows it. This is it. Either they win or we win.”

We have elections every four years. The United States Constitution has functioned for 240 years to prevent any battles for power (Civil War being the exception and keep that exception in mind). Why would Trump call 2024 the “Final Battle”? The Constitution says we’re having an election in 2028.

No. Not necessarily. The Constitution isn’t some self-operating machine. They are just words on paper if people aren’t committed to enforcing and abiding by them. So when Trump promises a “Final Battle,” I don’t think he’s using it as an analogy. He is saying that he’s going to fight this battle with finality. (Remember Trump trying to force the Secret Service to drive him to the Capitol?) I do not think that the violent imagery is an accident, either. If he wins the election and Democrats honor it, fine. He will step right up and give the same inauguration address above. But he will declare victory on the night of the election and “battle” in whatever he has to do to “win.”

***

MORE FINALITY, from CPAC:

“…If you put me back in the White House, their reign is over – and they know it… I will totally obliterate the Deep State. I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system like it has never been weaponized before.”

The Democrats’ reign will be “over.” The language doesn’t lend itself to a light interpretation, “Biden’s reign.” No. The Democrats themselves, our “reign” will be over. Any Republican would end the Biden “reign.” But Trump is saying if you put “me” in the White House, “their” reign is over. He means Democrats. He means earnest civil servants. He means everyone who won’t pledge loyalty to “America First.”

But “over”? Again, what about 2028?

He has promised to nationalize the national guard and put soldiers in the streets of “Democrat cities that are not enforcing the law.” From CPAC:

“I will send in the National Guard until law and order is restored. You know we’re not supposed to do that.”

Not supposed to do that? He just acknowledged that the Constitution prohibits his plans, and yet he will do what he wants anyway. He is promising, with a wink (!) that the Constitution will be gone or set aside temporarily because all dictatorships start as “temporary” once he is sworn in.

For example, when he talks about obliterating the deep state, he promises something that would take congressional action. But he’s not worried about Congress. He will have already declared martial law (“We not supposed to do that”), and if you expect responsible people from DoD and DOJ to step in, lower your expectations. From the Government Executive.com on Trump’s plans:

The former officials and current confidantes are, through a network of Trump-loyal think tanks and public policy organizations, creating lists of names to supplant existing civil servants. They have identified 50,000 current employees that could be dismissed under the new authority they seek to create, Axios reported and Government Executive confirmed, though they hope to only actually fire a fraction of that total and hope the resulting “chilling effect” will cause the rest to fall in line.

Fall in line.

He openly promises a dictatorship. Civil servants do their job no matter who is president. They “run” the United States. Trump sees that as a problem, a roadblock. If your job in the federal government as a civil servant necessarily includes loyalty to Trump over the country, you are now in a fascist nation under Trump. No one can go to the government expecting any help unless someone fully supports Trump.

Protests? In a Trump second term? About martial law and firing government employees? Good luck. This was the first time around.

Leading to this:

When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag carrying a cross (Bible). I am absolutely convinced that is what Trump had in mind above.

RETRIBUTION

“I am your retribution.” CPAC 2023.

Retribution: “Punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act.”

Now we’re really getting into why Trump is running for president. He wants retribution. You can feel it in his energy and words. He wants vengeance.

Imagine the horrific narcissistic injury he sustained in the 2020 loss. He is a loser. He has convinced himself that he won all along. Of course, he is also being investigated for several severe crimes. If he becomes president prior to a conviction (It’s truly dicey right now as to whether there is time to hold a trial and whether it would be possible to find a jury that could come to a unanimous verdict.) Imagine the fury that Trump wants to take out on those who “scared him” and embarrassed him by putting him through these investigations. If Trump is going to go this far, I think he’ll install a loyalist Attorney General and possibly arrest Biden, Garland, many FBI agents, and Barack Obama (‘They spied on my campaign!”). Trump could charge them with “weaponizing the government at a level never seen before…” a crime that a dictator can define. And even though the Democrats did not weaponize government, Trump did in his first term and could do it again, only more vicious and openly than before.

He promised vengeance for the entire MAGA cause. I have said over and over that the first term was about owning the libs, the second term will be about punishing the libs… and remember, this is the “final” battle. Traditionally, in a final battle and a fascist takeover, the losers are punished.

This is a quote from an article from Right Side Broadcast News published a week after the speech, highlighting what the MAGA author believed to be the most important takeaway (It’s the last paragraph of the article):

He is the warrior against the shadowed forces of the Deep State.

He represents the coming justice for those in power who have abused their authority in their desperation to clamp the shackles of tyranny around the ankles of American citizens.

He is the retribution that we have been waiting for in this final and historic internal war to reestablish the United States as a nation of free people with unalienable rights, given by God alone.

See the author pick up on the “finality”? The violent rhetoric? In this “final and historic internal WAR,” to “reestablish the United States,” one cannot “re-establish the United States within the constitution. Therein lies the presumption of fascism and a relish for vengeance. In a fascist state, Trump is going to bring “Justice” to those who abused their power, which is everyone who hurt him in any way.

*** Last: KEEPING POWER, RETAINING MARTIAL LAW, PUTTING DOWN PROTESTS

As mentioned above, he promised:“I will send in the National Guard until law and order is restored. You know we’re not supposed to do that.

But they aren’t just there to put down protests. On February 23, just weeks ago, Trump promised to send the national guard (or the regular military) into cities with “marxist” D.A.s that aren’t enforcing the law properly. He is talking - again - about sending troops into policing the cities:

Trump announces today that he will have DOJ investigate the “radical marxist” prosecutors in CHI, LA and SF to see if they are enforcing the law based on race, and will also send the Nat Guard in to take over cities that don’t enforce the law properly.

The protests would be massive and violent. His only hope of retaining power is to send the military into the cities to “keep the peace,” and even there, it will get violent. But that is okay. The National Guard will be there and my guess would be that they’ll be backed up by “Citizen Patriot Militias.”

Picture this (And this is when I pack my teenage daughter up, leaving a lot of clothes and furniture behind, and drive straight northwest to avail ourselves of our Canadian citizenship):

Imagine driving through your main thoroughfare or an interstate only to run into a MAGA “Patriot Patrol” of six giant pick-ups, 12 bulging guys wearing sunglasses and carrying their AR-15, the weapon they’ve been dying to use. They are stopping cars entering their town, ensuring only the “right” people are coming in. They will ask where you are going and why, in order to ensure you’re not some kind of “resistance.” God help POC, LGBTQ, or undocumented immigrants.

Who would stop them?

Perhaps in very blue states, the governors would have enough power to ensure their national guard remains loyal, but that is about the only hope.

From day one, we would be outside the Constitution, and that is why he is calling this the “final battle.” Once he has the military policing the streets and a government of loyalists, he won’t have an election in 2028 because the United States will still be under a “state of emergency.” He will want to die in office.

Am I an alarmist? Not according to Trump and his promises. I’m just the one putting them together for you.

**** SUMMARY

So go vote!

If only it were that easy. By all fcking means, get out and vote! But did the loss at the ballot box stop Trump from engaging in battle last time? No. And if he loses again, I suspect he’ll take the battle nationally. Red states may recognize him as the true president. The SCOTUS may be looking for a way to hand him a victory in 2024 by putting legislatures in charge (As we covered before) of presidential elections. No court suits as a check on legislative power. State legislatures alone determine who to send to the electoral college. There is a lot of ground on which to battle.

Where can we find hope? What force could stop this? (Presuming Trump declares a state of emergency and martial law?) Glad you asked because there is one - and I think the only one - power bigger than even the United States military and Trump’s government.

Corporate America. Joined by trans-global companies.

Under the Constitution and the predictable stability it brings about, the United States has accrued more wealth and spread more freedom (with a lot of faults) to the world than any empire in history. Corporate America cannot be “forced” to operate at the end of a machine gun. The banks, the insurance industry, big tech, airlines, big agriculture, and every entity that requires stability to operate with a profit which is all of the. They can choose to go “on strike,” cease to function, or at least cease to work with Trump’s government until normalcy is returned. But they will have to work fast, indeed - they better be ready beforehand, or they will be eaten up by government corruption. Putin’s Russia must tithe to Putin, and Trump prefers the Russian government over American democracy:

Trump says Russia is not a threat, our greatest threat is our American representatives, we need to reevaluate the purpose of NATO, and most of the people in the State Dept, DOD and Intel Services need to be fired so he can put the right people in. https://t.co/T6FCjIqMtr

Trump says Russia isn’t a threat? Russia attacked our drone over international waters on the exact same day. And yet Trump sees our current government, including all the civil servants and departments, as the bigger threat. Corporate America best be listening because the business web cannot operate in chaos and anarchy. Shutting down the American economy may be the only way to save democracy. A true war wouldn’t have a “winner.”

Trump thinks this is going to work. I think he’ll lose the actual election but will set it up to win in the House of Representatives. “Red State Legislatures” that vote for Biden (e.g. Georgia, Arizona) may refuse to send electors to the Electoral College, pushing the election to the House, where Trump will win. Or, there will be a battle of some kind, a “national divorce,” as Marjorie proposes.

Either way, we best start listening and planning right now. Hear me Goldman Sachs? Chase Visa? Google? GM? Coca-Cola? United Airlines….

Terrific (ie terrifying) article which SHOULD be required reading in every American school, even the ones with no books left. Okay, especially the ones with no books left.

With all the big-time firepower out in the nation, should we be worried about anything 45 threatens? Perhaps he'll barricade inside the white house or find an impregnable palace/castle to hunker down inside.......sorta like the Russian dictator.
