No FBI 'Smoking Gun' on Twitter Results in Doocy Busting Kilmeade in Fox Fight
Steve Doocy is going to have someone tasting his food for a month...

Sweet Jesus, it is really hard to know where to start, but one must start somewhere because this Twitter-FBI-Hunter thing is going to be the basis of the House’s impeachment of Joe Biden (If they can manage to do it with only a four to five-member majority.) Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, following up on a theme we’ve ridden for weeks, the fight from Tuesday morning on Fox and Friends perfectly captures the scrumptious schism within the GOP, a schism that could bring it all down, or - well, “more down.” (Ask Mitch McConnell what I mean about that. He will know better than me, but it relates to giving Georgia to the Democrats by running a guy like Herschel Walker.)
That Twitter and Musk are involved is just a crutch to make the script more exciting. Trump has always thought of his political life as reality television; Fox is television. But it’s pretty obvious that the Cohen brothers somehow bought the rights to craft this story. The GOP and Trump’s Titanic plunge to the icy depths has that tragic-comedy feel, similar to “Fargo.” Expect a car chase.
In the last month, we’ve looked at various indications that a portion of the GOP is ready to move on from being “the conspiracy theory party” and giving “being normal” a shot. At least dangle their feet in “normal” water? Not dive. Just dangle their feet, and see if it’s not so bad. The beach below doesn’t look bad…
Steve Doocy has been acting “normal” for a long time… Doocy was the one who put his life on the line when, after the FBI served its search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, simply asked, “Why didn’t he just give the files back!” Ironically, that was the top question asked by a survey of 1,000 third graders a week after the search. As noted above, Steve must have had a food taster at home and brought his own coffee maker to work. He probably never goes above the ground floor for fear of “tall building syndrome” that is sweeping through Russia.
Food taster can’t get life insurance and insists on being paid daily.
Wonderfully, on the other side, we have Brian Kilmeade, who is acting like a MAGA and, damn it, he will die on the Hunter Biden - China - Twitter - FBI - Joe Biden - Billion dollar hill. As an outside observer, it’s not my job to predict whether Kilmeade will take that hill. So, I’ll just say that Kilmeade will take a hit about two-thirds of the way up, perhaps in a car chase. That is not a prediction. It’s the pattern. Sorry for the violent imagery, but these people have shown that when they don’t get what they want, they do get violent. Kilmeade’s Google search history includes “Amazon Plutonium 151.”
Surveying hill. .
VERY Quick backstory:
MAGAs believed that the FBI forced Twitter to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story in October 2020. But all big media (Except the Trump-loving NY Post) avoided the story because it was very hard to verify, and the FBI said had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. But MAGAs were positive that the Biden campaign and “the government” (FBI/DOJ) convinced Twitter (And the other big media groups) to suppress the story to help the Biden campaign. Do note that the people in charge of “the government” at the time were Donald Trump and Bill Barr. This seemingly “gamebreaker” to the conspiracy is one layer too deep [state] for the conspiracy theory.
Elon Musk promised a tweet thread written by semi-respectable journalist Matt Taibbi that would be the “big one” and spill Twitter’s secrets. It was published Friday evening, and… there was no evidence in all of Twitter’s company emails, notes, records, anything that tied either the Biden campaign or the government to a decision to suppress the story. Twitter made the decision because it was (then) unverifiable, and Twitter leans a little left. Sorry, not sorry. Hobby Lobby leans A LOT Right, and Exxon leans a bit Right. Companies take on the personality of their staff and mission. Twitter doesn’t need to apologize. Free speech is also the freedom to not speak.
After Friday night’s release, many people, even on the Right, admitted that the story was a dud. There was no government pressure to suppress the story, nor was there any from the Biden campaign. Steve Doocy, among many others, recognizes it. Kilmeade does not. And Trump believed that Twitter’s decision to suppress the story was akin to firing on Fort Sumpter and that the only way to resolve the fact that Twitter leaned left was to terminate the Constitution. Solid campaign issue.
Whether or not this is a big deal, it is in dispute in Republican land, as Doocy v. Kilmeade demonstrates. “Normal Republicans” can see it for what it is, a nothing-burger. Conspiracy theorists can see whatever they want, including the chase scene, Hunter with Stormy, and FBI involvement because “Would the FBI be stupid enough to leave a trace, huh? What about that? It’s not there, and that proves they hid it. Chew that a bit.”
That is literally their argument, though Kilmeade tries to do a bit better.
The Fight:
As described by Mediaite (Linked Below), Doocy leads off by trying out “normal.”
“So, according to the guy who Elon Musk gave all the secrets to, he said I don’t see federal law enforcement involved in the laptop story at all,”
Mediate says Kilmeade doesn’t quite go “aplopectic” (that’s quite a starting point), but Kilmeade was fuming.
And Mediaite finishes with:
[Kilmeade] didn’t calmly receive Doocy’s statement of facts, as it’s clear that he believes there is far great injustice at play than his co-host explained.
The back and forth was respectful, but it was a clear representation of the ongoing debate even on the right side of the aisle, as to what exactly happened surrounding this story. Is it a huge deal, as some are making it out for political gain, or not that big of a deal, as others are making it out for political gain?
TIME FOR YOU TO WATCH THE FIGHT…
Unfortunately, you are going to have to simply click HERE or Below to watch it. Substack won’t allow one to download native video (It is stored on my computer). The scene isn’t on YouTube. I could not find it on Twitter, nor could I uplift it to my own Twitter because it’s five minutes long. So… click above or below, watch the fight, and come back for the big finish.
To sum it up, beyond the entertainment value (Kilmeade really does get angry, and Doocy really does call him out as making no sense), this was one of the more enjoyable demonstrations of a very important and now increasingly obvious issue within the GOP. Who wants to slowly blackout of the MTG-GQP, where Democrats are “groomers” and Hillary runs the globalist elite, etc., versus who wants to be normal and talk about what to do about inflation, what the Warnock win means(!) and all those mundane things that used to make politics part of the background in people’s lives, not pushed in front of their faces.
Plenty are still ready to die on the Trump-Hunter-Twitter-FBI-Victimization hill, as we ascribed to Kilmeade, but fewer than before. We saw Herschel Walker go down last night. We know the direction that Atlanta suburbs are moving. Though, admittedly, Walker’s loss likely had more to do with werewolves and vampires than the schism in the Republican party.
But there is a schism, and we’ve already seen it cost the GOP the U.S. Senate. It will become increasingly important as Trump faces possible charges and DeSantis enters the race. Buy shares of Orville Redenbacher.

Based on feedback (jmiciak@yahoo.com) I am going to slide some (hopefully) biting wit into these. And take on more subjects around the periphery, like the one above, that you may not have known, and link them to larger themes.
And yes, you get your beach. I don’t know what this woman is doing on our beach, but I’ve decided she can stay.
The House will pick Jeffries as speaker. it's secret vote, correct? if not, the first GOPper to vote for Jeffries will start a landslide. trump and mtg insane rants are wearing down all the sheep in the GOP who aren't willing to go to jail for those bozos. the j6 report will cause a lot more to talk. and by the time the official vote for speaker is certified at least 5 or 8 GOP will have voted for Jeffries.
Steve has stopped drinking the koolaid for a while now .
